Is the idea of large air tube tents more stupid that 8.5 mm THIN 7001 T6 Alloy tent poles for backpacking tents….or just the same level of stupid? T6 alloy poles r also known as Aviation Aluminium, Adnosied Aluninium, and, my favourite: WC (Water Closet?) Superflex Alloy. All exactly the same ‘weather resistant’ snap easily pole. Weather resistant. Chuff me. Outdoor shops r so far down the neatly trimmed lane of ‘Camping Boutiques’, that they now more clearly represent the other mean of camp, once the exclusive preserve of John Inman, Larry Grayson, Alan Carr & co.
Air poles arent an advamcement…..they are our old friend Commercial Retardation, designed merely to sell more tents, via them going wrong quicker.
